My skin around my eyes is very itchy, does anyone know why?

ok so it's not exactley my eyes just the the skin around my eyes, like my eye lids and the lids below your eye. They are dry and very itchy! Also kind of swollen sometimes. And I have been rubbing them like crazy so now I have lines/wrinkles which I think was caused by the rubbing. Someone told me maybe allergys. So I took allergy medicine, and that hasn't worked yet. I've tryed lotion and eye creme. Does anyone know what could be causing this and how to make it stop itching and to get rid of the lines? Please help!! Thanks sooooooo much!!!

This may be signs of Pink Eye or even an Eye Infection. If you have not gone to the doctor already, I would schedule an appointment. If there is a problem , you want to get it looked at before you cause any permanent damage.

In the meantime, I would try over the counter Claritin D. It tends to work the best for my allergies so I would give it a shot.
Reply:you might have a problem beneth the surface. if you wear makeup that may be the problem. stop using any cremes and thoughroly wash that area. hold off on any creme or makeup for awhile. if that doesn't work see a doctor you may have an infection.
Reply:well it maybe a rash or u might have something kind of like a sunburn on ur eye my friend had that once when she was at the pool the whole day so try wearing sunglasses when you go outside and also see a doctor. I hope that helps..hope you get better!!
Reply:could be allergies, or your makeup, if it is the make up use any product such as clinque that carries non fragrance in their products and use an eye cream as nuetrogena has a good over the counter one for sensitive skin. If you do have black circles under your eyes and just started noticing the itching that is surely a sign of allergies.

I have it too!!!! I have been told it maybe linked to my eczema or hayfever. After searching on the web ( i don't want to use a steroid so have binned the cream the doctor gave me) i have found a cream that seems to be very popular and works, it was also recommended in The Times newspaper and several posh magazines which is where i found out about it. Anyway its called Cardiospermum Dry Skin Eye Gel and it's available from skinshop.co.uk or call 08718719975 ( England ) It's very natural and contains amongst other things soothing aloe vera. Don't waste your money on anything else, they don't work and only irritate the problem even more , i've tried everything , organic and non. Enjoy getting your eyes back :)

What's the best cure for itchy dry "winter skin"?

I get it bad every winter, and I hate it! I've found a few decent lotions that provide a quick fix for most of the dryness, but it only gets to the surface, so even after I apply it, I still feel very itchy!

What's the best cure for itchy dry "winter skin"?
anything with urea (found in the diabetiv section of the drug store or behind he pharmacy counter - no perscription) is super hydrating, but a little pricey - about $10 a tube...something i have found helpful is Olay Quench - unscented for sensitive skin - it's not as expensive and as long as you apply it once a day it works wonders and i have very dry skin (the skin on my hands used to be so dry that it cracked!) - hope it heps...
Reply:After I shower but before I dry off, I put on baby oil. Then dry off. It will really moisturize your skin, protect it from the weather, and keep it really soft.

I have extremely sensitive skin and this has worked for me for years.
Reply:Original Curel lotion is the best. When you come out of the shower, towel dry yourself and rub it in while you are still damp. It will make your skin really soft.
Reply:I use Olay Moisturinse In Shower Body Lotion. I love it. I get really itchy skin in the winter, and this takes care of it. Our local Wal-Mart has it on the same aisle as the soap.
Reply:Make sure that you lotion does not have any perfume or scent to it because in this end, it will just end up drying your skin. I also have very dry skin in the winter and have found that if I use baby oil and then lotion (I use lubriderm) right after I shower, I don't have that much of a problem. It helps keep the moisture in. Also, use soap for sensitive skin (also unscented) and don't shave your legs, underarms, or face without using a moisturizing shaving cream. Put a humidifier in your bedroom at night to help keep the room air from getting too dry. In the winter, the heat takes the humidity out of the air and that is why your dry skin worsens.
Reply:I have very sensitive, dry skin and the OLAY products work wonders for me. I use the body wash, in shower lotion and the quench body lotion and I have seen an improvement in my skin overnight. I also use it on my 3 yr old who also has dry skin and it works well for both of us without irritation.

I heard that after shaving in the hairy basement ur skin can get iritated and itchy? 10 POINTS for best answer

i refuse to wax that area, and i trim but i feel like my long term boyfriend still remains hesitant when exploring that area, because of it.

i want to try shaving, but i've heard that after shaving your skin can become iritated and itchy. Is this always the case?

Will a certain method or shaving cream prevent this from happening?

I heard that after shaving in the hairy basement ur skin can get iritated and itchy? 10 POINTS for best answer
Well a lot of it depends on your skin. I have really sensitive skin and when I first started shaving (about 8 years ago) for the first few months I had some razor burn, ingrown hairs, and itching- as that skin was not used to being shaved. With time though, it "toughened up". I still shave daily with no problems. My best suggestion if you try it is to make sure you have a high quality SHARP razor, shaving cream (I like gel best), and warm water. It works best if the hair is softened a little first so a nice soak in a warm bath beforehand really helps with that. Also, if the hair is on the longer side, using scissors before you shave may make it easier. Afterwards, you may have some irritation but the more you do it the more any problems you may have had will lessen. I am so used to it I could not imagine hair down there now! Anyway, hope I could help!!!

Reply:it doesnt really get too irritated if you do it often and get used to it. just make sure you do use a lot of shaving cream. it only really itches if you start to let it grow out

good luck!
Reply:I have tried everythng possible but I still get iritated and itchy when it starts to grow back. But I still do it
Reply:its really eratating i did it today cuz i miss see im penis and its really itchy.....ide rath wax its more better doesent itch as much
Reply:It depends on the person...

for me it just felt itchy the first couple times, but then my skin got used to it and it doesn't itch anymore.

If you shave right, it won't itch at all.
Reply:usually you cant get rid of the itch when the hair is growing back, but if you irritate the skin vaseline will do the trick. i've been shavin for ten years now. ten years sounds like a long time to me now lol
Reply:It will be fine if you keep it up. The first time you do it might get a bit red but just put talc on it and it will be fine.
Reply:yes and no

when shaving make sure your not shaving bare skin to blade...put some shaving cream on the area.

also be gentle as this area is very sensitive.

i suggest shaving in a downward motion. shaving upward causes irritation.

make sure the razor isnt dull.

using a sharp razor while shaving in a downward motion and be gentle will reduce the irritation...hope i helped
Reply:AND THIS IS IN MEN'S HEALTH BECAUSE....?
Reply:no jus dont shave iy all off, keep it neat and make sure u dont give it a chance to grow in then ull be fine!

Sometimes i suddenly get itchy and my skin feels like pin pricks. What is wrong with me?

My head starts to get really itchy and i feel tingly and hot all of a sudden.

Im not allergic to anything i dont think.

I think you may have an alergy to a food or something in a food. I would suggest keeping a food diary for a week or two. As soon as you get the symptoms, look at what you've eaten that day and see if anything jumps out as something you eat each time it happens.

It could even be an ingredient in several foods or candy you eat. Gum and mints, particularly sugar-free ones have additives and preservatives to make or keep it sweet. Many of these have side affects you could be experiencing.

Good luck!
Reply:If you continue to experience the tingling and cannot identify a food alergy I would see a doctor and see what they might suggest for you... Report It

Help with itchy pooch: Dog skin infection...?

Is there anything I can do for her on my own. We are broke and the local vet is an expensive crook. She has had some antibiotics before, but as soon as they run out, she's all red and itchy again.

Will she recover eventually on her own? Will anything ever get worse/ health problems. We can't afford to have her on nonstop antibiotics. Is there anything natural or over the counter? Would benadryl help, I know people have used that for dog allergies, but the vet said this was an infection.

How about an anti-yeast cream for baby butts?

Gimme anything useful....thanks!

Change her food.

Get one without corn, wheat, milk, soy, beef or chicken.

Innova EVO is best. It's a little on the pricey side, but you save money in the long run.

Really! It's doing great things for itchy dogs.

California Natural Skin and Coat Formula is also great. Wonderful for itchy dogs.

Find both at www.naturapet.com
Reply:There are oatmeal baths soaps that you can use and that might help with the dry skin. You can buy them at any pet store.

Dry itchy and swelling skin?

For the past week my ankles have been itchy no swelling. Since yesterday i have had itching everywhere and swelling after i itch. Can someone help me plz!!??

Dry itchy and swelling skin?
try some lotion and benadrly

see a doctor if it gets very bad
Reply:I have very itchy skin also, it's terrible. But the best way for it to stop itching is if you take a shower and use body wash for itchy dry skin. Don't take a shower longer than 10-15 minutes. Don't use extremely hot water to bathe. Warm would be best. Use the shower gel then come out and use gold bond itching body lotion. It's the best, I always get really itchy to the point were my skin is pealing and get scabs. Now I dont get it as much as I use to.

I would use Aveeno body wash.
