Something is making my skin itchy. Will applying rubbing alcohol help with the itch?

Did you change soaps, laundry detergent, fabric softener? Changing those things would make you itch if you have allergies like I do (I know from experience) Alcohol would just dry it up and maybe make it itch more, when you are dry you do itch more. see a doctor, change your bath soaps or detergents and fabric softners maybe. Anti itch cream should help.

Most likely no... Rubbing alcohol can dry out the skin, and it may make your skin more itchy!

Try a cream or something meant to sooth the itches
Reply:idk probably not try benidryll cream i dont know how to spell that but u get the idea...that will help
Reply:Doubt it. I think putting rubbing alcohol on it will only dry out the skin and make the itching worse. Until you find out what is making you itch, you should put on an anti-itch lotion. I have found that Sarna works the best. It is available at most pharmacies.

Reply:try using beta dyne
Reply:No way! Rubbing alcohol can dry the skin and sometimes irritate it even more!

Try using Benedryl. If the cream doesn't work, the gel does wonders for me.
Reply:You need to take an anti histamine tablet ie: Pirriton.
Reply:Astringents help stop the itching from bug bites.
Reply:Alcohol might help if you have a mosquito bite or something. Benadryl cream would be a better choice.
