What does it actually mean when your skin is itchy?

This is might seem like a really stupid question, but apart from when suffering from an allergy or a disease such as excema etc, what is actually happening in your body when your skin itches??

What does it actually mean when your skin is itchy?
The histamines in your blood stream pool at one spot on your body, making it itch. They are the same histamines that go haywire with allergies, but sometimes they all congregate when nothing is wrong and it itches.
Reply:Usually there is a release of histamine from your body and that leads to itch. Take an antihistamine for a few days (not %26gt; 10 days though).
