How do you cure very dry itchy winter skin?

My husband and I are suffering from very dry winter skin that makes us itch constantly. We've tried everything that products have to offer for this condition, but so far nothing has seemed to work and we are at our wits end with the itching. Can Anybody help us?

How do you cure very dry itchy winter skin?
DRY SKIN: Combine 1 cup oatmeal, 1 cup warm water, 1 Tbls. vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup baking soda in a blender or food processor until you have a smooth paste. Pour this paste under the running water while drawing the bath. Very soothing to dry, itchy skin.

Reply:My skin also goes through this every winter. First, I sleep with a vaporizer on to get some moisture in my bedroom while I sleep. I take a shower every morning with lukewarm water and oatmeal liquid soap. Immediately after I dry, I put on oatmeal lotion. On tough days, I also put on Gold Bond anti-itch powder. On the weekends, I take an oatmeal bath for about 10 minutes, dry, and oatmeal lotion. I put this lotion on twice a day when it's bad. Occasionally I supplement by putting on baby oil after a shower and before I dry. The drying takes off most of the oil, but enough is left to keep some moisture in. Then moisturize.

It stinks to itch all winter. I hope this helps you.
Reply:you can either go to a dermatologist or buy a lotion thats specialized for dry itchy skin
