Considering I am pregnant, I can't take any drugs or rub just anything on my skin...but I can't even sleep sometimes due to the itchyness...I need major help!

Any good recomendations for dry itchy skin? I've tried a couple of lotions but nothing seems to work! help!
Check with your doctor or druggist. Ask them for their input. They deal with this question everyday.

I like Cetaphil lotion. Works good for me, and I am not pregnant.

If you live in the dry Southwest, try drinking more water.
Reply:scratch it. works great.
Reply:proactive solution
Reply:Aveeno has some super soothing OATMEAL baths that work SO well . . .
Reply:Have you tried cocoa butter? Don't scratch! itchiness is also a sign of streatch marks. Also NO HOT SHOWERS! That will dry out your skin. Try one of those moisterizing body washes.
Reply:camimile lotion, goats milk lotions, or there's one that's medicated for diaper rashes, sunburns, etc. I think it's called penaten- it works really well for very dry skin!

Congrats on the child %26amp; good luck!
Reply:Hon, try some good old fashioned Vaseline.. When you take a shower or bath, BEFORE you dry, rub some on where ever you need it. Then Dry as usual.. They have some that smells just like baby powder.. Oh yeah, you need to drink more liquids..

Good luck and God Bless. {:-)..%26lt;%26gt;%26lt;
Reply:ask your dr. about Lac-Hydrin 12% lot. seems to work on my husbands dry skin
Reply:use coconut oil...
Reply:I do not know if you had dry itchy skin before your pregnancy or not.During pregnancy as the skin is streching it itches and will change the colou to brown in some parts of the leg, thigh and abdomen the colour will change to white at the end.

You can rub olive oil on your skin,it is natural and safe (use extra virgin olive oil)

Consuming olive oil really works too.You can cook your food with it.I have tested and it worked.

on the other hand do not use strong soap or shampoo at all (use those for babys)

I hope you and your child a very happy healthy life.
Reply:In addition to the Aveeno already mentioned (and this is an excellent product line) you might try Calazyme paste. It's an OTC and if your pharmacy doesn't carry it, have them order it for you. We use it in the hospital as a skin protectant, moisture barrier and to nourish the skin.
Reply:yes, oatmeal baths are great.

Use soaps for sensitive skin and lotions too, that will help a lot such as dove or aveeno
Reply:drink water
