Besides moisturiser, what is the best natural remedy to combat dry and itchy skin?

Is cod liver oil a good combat agianst this, or are there any other natural non-fuss remedies out there? It's that time of year in Australia - Autumn, dry and windy, and my skin is suffering!

Besides moisturiser, what is the best natural remedy to combat dry and itchy skin?
Something that helps with dry skin is to take a supplement that includes Vitamin E, B vitamins (1-12), and Omega 3 fatty acids. These are vitamins that are very important in maintaining skin heath and vitality. These are also vitamins that are commonly deficient in the diet. I would suggest a high quality multi-vitamin and fish oil capsules. Adding these will improve the overall quality of the skin in the long term.

In the short term, you can apply baby oil to your skin after you get out of the shower while you are still wet. Then gently blot off the excess water. This will lock in the moisture
Reply:Drink plenty of water!
Reply:Vaseline. If you have dry hands put socks on them after you apply. Best to do this at night.
Reply:Try oatmeal bath. I know people that this has helped.
Reply:oatmeal and milk mixed together is very good moisturizer for dry itchy skin. it helped me a lot and my legs now feel silky smooth

Reply:Use eucerin calming cream.

I put a couple of avacados in the blinder and add a bit

of olive oil. It will keep in the fridge for several days.
Reply:Renew skin lotion is the best on the market I have found. It is available in Australia.
Reply:Go to the Chemist and buy Ego QV bath oil. I have condition which dries my skin out to the point of cracking. Its ranges in price and size from $8 to $25. It was recommended by my skin specialist. Use it to shower or bathe or wash your hands etc. Safe to use on all parts of the body. Leaves your skin feeling soft and refreshed. Over time you will see a huge improvement in your skin. Ego make a lot of products, sunscreen, lip balms, moisturisers etc. I'm sure you will find what you are looking for, but the bath oil is fantastic for dry skin.
