Boston terrier..DRY ITCHY SKIN....?

My Buffy she has really dry skin and she will chew it till she makes a naked spot on her back, I have used the creams that the vet gave me I also tried givin her bones and toys to keep her busy but ..she still chews it up. I have no more ideas on what to do, if there is a shampoo, or cream thats out there i would love to know. my vet says to watch her, ok well i cant watch her 24-7 and tellin her NO BUFFY ....doesnt work either..i get the LOOK form her and she does it anyway. I dont think you should smack the crap outta them either, so if you guys have a really good answer I would love to hear it!

Boston terrier..DRY ITCHY SKIN....?
We use this stuff called "ITCH STOP" (i get it online at the dr's foster and smith catalog), it's kinda like a shampoo, you leave it on them during bathtime for up to 10 minutes....my boxer swears by it. AND....I rinse him in tepid water---not cold, not hot, not warm--tepid, room temp water----warm water releases the "histamines" in his skin, so we dont want that! histamine=itch

Also, she might have a food allergy. Try to get a dog food that does NOT use CORN---I use Nutrisource dog food....

Between the food and the itch-stop, my dog only scratches 1x a day, instead of the 100x a day, 15 min scratch-fests where he thumps so hard it sounds like someone's coming thru the front door with a battering ram...and his paws arent blood-red anymore, either, and he's not nibbling on them.

Try it.
Reply:Skin So Soft is a product from Avon that will save your dog.

I have used this over and over, It not only mositurizes but it takes away the itch. I swear on it.
Reply:Using omega fatty oils is great for animals skin and you can even find foods that have it in them.
Reply:you are in the wrong CATagory
Reply:I work for a vet and there is a food made by Science Diet that is called Z/D its a low allergen food. Your vet should also be able to give an allergy shot.
Reply:Must be a new breed of cat.

I KNOW DOGS are boston terriers, never heard of cats though
