I have dry itchy skin due to hormones & thyroid problems. Any suggestions for relief?

I have terribly dry skin and two lotions have worked well for me. They are Cetaphil and Curel.

Everything else seems to contain alcohol which dries out your skin!

I have dry itchy skin due to hormones %26amp; thyroid problems. Any suggestions for relief?
lubriderm for severly dry skin- it has a maroon top on it... my daughter has very dry skin and the doctor recommended this after I had tried everything else... it worked like a charm.
Reply:Eucerin.
Reply:in your bath water put 1/4 to 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar (Heinz) it helps all kinds of skin problems
Reply:try a cortisone cream with a zinc additive see your doctor first though and get checked over thoroughly.
Reply:You can use the lotion Eucerin and an thyroid medicine or supplement. Overall see a physician.
Reply:Aveeno oatmeal bath treatments are excellent! Also do not use any skin treatments with zinc, it will only dry your skin further. Lubriderm severly dry skin is the absolute best. One thing that i tell my patients to treat their dry skin on their hands and feet is to apply a liberal amount of lotion and then cover feet and hands w/ socks while you sleep. It really works!! Good luck
Reply:Try Neem Oil for dry itchy skin. You can order it online.

Stay away from tea, pop, and coffee.

As for your thyroid problems...stop using fluoride toothpaste!

Go to the health food store and read the books about the thyroid. Certain foods can inhibit the function of the thyroid...broccoli, for example.

Do a parasite cleanse, then a kidney cleanse, and then finally a liver cleanse --- www.curezone.com. Doing a bowel cleanse can also help.

Take your B vitamins and a good mineral supplement (magnesium and zinc will make your skin softer).

Eat dark green leafy vegetables every day.
