I have itchy skin after taking a shower. What could be the cause of this and how do I treat it. It is annoying

Its probably the soap you are using. Try something with more moisture in it, such as Dove or Olay. I had to switch from Softsoap to Olay because it was totally drying out my skin. Don't use really hot water either and always use a good lotion or moisturizer when you get out. That should help.

Reply:Try changing to a milder soap (like Dove), your skin might not like the soap you are using.
Reply:Dry skin, put on some lotion, that should help!
Reply:Generous moisturizer is needed, you have dry skin. Take shower only once, don't use hot water (colder or Luke warm is better), use moisturizing soaps such as Olay and many others. Give it a week, you will see the difference.
Reply:Moisturize a BUNCH.Either you have hard water, or your soap is drying you out.
Reply:maybe you have dirty water running in your pipes--try putting a filter at the water pipe--it will help somewhat
Reply:Try going from bar soap to, the liquid soaps and using a lufa. This will help in moisturising your skin and help with taking dead flaking itchy skin off..
Reply:Are u taking long showers? U might be using too much hot water for your skin which causes the skin to dry out and itch. You should adjust your temp. of water to more of a tepid temp and then use an oatmeal type shower gel, moisturize after shower and just pat dry your skin. Hope this helps
