My baby has dry and itchy skin....any help?
vaseline or baby oil
Reply:My redheaded 8 year old had dry skin when he was 2 to 3 years old. We went to an older doctor who asked us how often we bathed him. We said everyday like we're supposed to. The doc said that we should bathe him every other day to give his skin time to regenerate its natural oils. We just used a warm washcloth to wash his hands and face when he needed it. It worked pretty well. We also would use regular baby-oil on his skin right after bathtime to help. Just put it on your hands to apply it rather than a cloth. The cloth will be abrasive when the skin is so tender right after a bath.
Reply:Aveeno baby lotion or baby oil gel or aloe vera lotion.
Only bathe your baby when need, not everyday as this can dry out skin.
Good Luck
Reply:Use glycerin based soaps. Best thing is vaseline for baby's, or Balmex even Desitin. Balmex and Desitin are diaper rash products, but they can be used in other parts of the babies body because they petroleum based products.
Good Luck and prosper...;*!*;...
Reply:go with what JIM said it works
Reply:there is a type of lotion you can buy at wal-mart or any pharmacy (cvs, rite aid, ect...) it's called aquaphor. works great! it's like lotion and vaseline combined
Reply:I would give vasseline cream but it might be exma, go to see your doctor for a check-up and ask if it's exma or just a temporary rash.
Reply:my baby had the same thing. I thought it was dry skin, but come to find out that babies can get baby acne. It looks the same as dry itchy skin, but infact it may be acne. Ge to the doc and see whats up. If it is this baby acne, then they give you a cream to treat it.
Reply:Excema Could Be The Cause. Try Gold Bond Medicated Lotion
Reply:i recommend vaseline i think that is really good also you can try e45 cream it is really good.
Reply:try Curel soothing hands lotion everyday it doesnt have irratating ingredients the name was recently changed to hand lotion but its still just lotion and it doesnt rub off or wash off easily it isnt oily or greasy either it also is a good idea to bathe him only every 2 or 3 days keeping in mind that not every part of his body needs soap every time and try to clear rinse every bath otherwise small amounts of soap stay on his skin
Reply:Heyu there can you get vasaline where you live? Try that if not try doing an oatmeal bath
Reply:emu oil
Reply:take your baby to a dermatologian. i have had it all my life and the best thig for it is some ointment untill you get a appointment
Reply:Aveeno products or always use some kind of oil baby, olive, something natural so they don't get allergic
Reply:I just had a baby in Feb. and my son's doctor told me to keep Eucerin lotion on him at all times and give him a bath in Dove for sensitive skin it helps him out alot.
Reply:AVEENO
Reply:try putting baby lotion on your baby after bathtime. And cut down on the soap during bathtime.
Reply:This stuff is the best if you can find it in Japan...
Aquaphor from Eucerin
It's like Vasaline but way better!
Reply:baby lotion
Reply:My baby had dry skin when he was born as he was 10 days late. His skin was quite raw in some places and everyday i put pure olive oil on his whole body and massaged it in.Try not too give too many baths as this drys the skin.I used olive oil for about 2 mth and then his skin was beautiful. No dry skin at all.Now and again i put it on him especially after he has a bath.
Reply:Aveeno lotions are good and i have been putting extra light olive oil in my daughters bath. it helps some i also give her vitamin E.
