Dry itchy skin developed in patches?
There are several skin conditions that have these same symptoms. You really need to see a dermatologist (even if it is another one other than the one you already went to). This is the only way you will be able to determine the exact cause of this malady and get the right treatment. Psoriasis, excema, allergies, or a host of other skin problems can cause this debilitating condition. In the meantime, you can take a coilidal bath (with oatmeal, at pharmacy) to relieve the itching. Don't use any topical over the counter creams yet, as they might exacerbate the problem. I know this has to be making you very self consious, and that is why you need to get to a doctor right away. Good Luck!!!
Reply:It sounds like eczema to me - go to a different doctor who will be able to prescribe a topical cream for you
Reply:It might be Shingles. Go to a doctor, asap. You don't know what it is so you can't do anything for it. It'll only get worse! lol.

Go see your regular doctor, he'll give you something for it. =)
Reply:Sounds like you may be allergic to something (food, detergent, etc.). You might want to be tested by an allergy specialist.
Reply:it could be what is called psoriasis.....you need to go and see the dermatologists
Reply:try some braggs apple cider vinegar which helps for skin problems like yours, and also for sore throat, it's cheap and effective!! good luck!!
Reply:Take a oatmeal bath - some stuff you put into your water. Then use some natural stuff like aloe vera - then watch for the type of soap powder you use and food u eat. To understand why this is going on.
Reply:it sounds like you might have psoriasis try a anti-itch cream from your local drug store
Reply:Sounds like eczema. But you will need to see a doctor for confirmation (sorry...no getting around that)

Check your environment for possible triggers: dust, pollen, chemicals.

Check your foods as well: Wheat, milk, soy, eggs, bananas, peaches, peanuts, food dyes, preservatives ...these are possible suspects.

Eczema is a very annoying skin condition...the more you itch the worse it gets. I know it seems counter intuitive to say that when you feel itchy, don't itch but that is exactly what you need to do...NOT ITCH. When you scratch the skin, you introduce small wounds that are perfect for the bacteria to grow and cause the ugly rash you are seeing.

Eczema is worse in areas of "low" circulation like the skin folds at the joints. Drink lots of water and exercise in cool environment to improve body circulation and get rid of toxins from your body.

Medicines in general are just suppresive for the symptoms. They don't actually cure the eczema.

Sorry for this long answer. But there are more comprehensive info on the web searches.
Reply:If it's psoriasis you need to go to a dermatologist and get creams to treat it so it doesn't spread. Psoriasis is Greek for "the itch". When you irritate the skin it will grow back redder and simply look worse. Treat it so you wont get scars. GO TO A DERMATOLOGIST!

If your scalp itches use Coal Tar shampoo. You need topicals for Psoriasis such as Protopic.
