Really itchy skin rash...?

I have a really itchy rash. It looks like really bad acne, but it's out of control. It started on my arms (above my elbow), and went to my upper chest, shoulders, and upper back, and is now on my entire back. From everything I've read it sounds kinda like scabies, but my husband doesn't have any symptoms, and neither does my daughter, and I've heard scabies are super contagious. I just finished a round of steroids a couple of weeks ago and an antibiotic about a month ago (both medicines I've taken before)... I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it. I haven't tried any new soaps or laundry detergents. The medicines were for an upper respiratory infection. I have asthma and allergies... once again don't know if that matters. Anyone please tell me what this is! It's driving me nuts, so much so I'm having trouble sleeping. Thanks to everyone with any suggestions!

Really itchy skin rash...?
It is probably related to your allergies. Sounds like allergic eczema. I had a friend who had it and really severe allergies (when we were little). When she hit puberty it disappeared and the eczema manifested itself as asthma instead (a relief to her, I am sure - it was quite severe).

Go to your allergist or a dermatologist. If you don't have one, have your regular doctor recommend one.

In the meantime, get some Aveeno oatmeal bath to add to a warm (not hot!) bath (the bottle will tell you). Soak in the Aveeno bath every night. Aveeno also has some good lotions - you could also try Zyradril (sp?) (green) lotion on it for relief and taking Benadryl - an antihystamine to also help with the itching. To be sure you are using the best lotion, ask your pharmacist.

Your doctor will probably want to prescribe you some topical steroids for it.

I cited a link that may help you. Good luck and I hope you get some relief!
Reply:There are so many things and without a visual it's really tough to say.

If it's not raised up from the skin it may be (and I know this sounds bad, but it's not as bad as it sounds) a fungus. These tend to really itch, spread, and usually isn't contagious.

Just one possibility.
Reply:Try the source below for a diagnosis of that rash.
Reply:You may have a condition just now being recognized by the CDC called morgellons .. you said "and I could just get some spray for athletes foot and spray all over me... I'm desperate!!!"

That may help if it is in fact morgellons go to morgellons.org and compare symptoms ,,you will need to buy a 30x handheld lighted microscope to look at your skin and only if you see a fiber show your doctor , he may not believe you , but you have a better shot at your doc being compassionate if you show him a fiber

here is the CDC sight http://www.cdc.gov/unexplaineddermopathy...
