it very red and she is loosing her hair, the vet is so expensive, for a little bottle of pills that I got for her last year any home remedies to relieve her distress? I checked for bugs and she has none even gave her a flea bath and drops for protection.
My dog has extremely itchy skin?
maybe ur dog isnt getting enough oil from the dogfood
Reply:You need to consult a vet to determine what the cause of her itching is from. It could be a wide variety of things and each would have it's own way of treating it. It could be allergies, fleas, infection, and so many other things.
Reply:Take her back to the vet as otherwise it is cruel for you to keep her. Imagine how you would feel if you had skin like that! She may have mange? You need to take her to the vets!
Reply:Changer her diet , and be careful with the flea baths, some of them are kinda harsh....you could put on her cod liver oil, twice a day, this will relieve the itchy skin and make her coat really nice........check with your vet, he will agree..you can get it at any pet store..
Reply:Please take her to the vet,she needs you to help her and if you love her you will,if not try to re home her to someone who will look after her properly please don't take offense to what i am saying but she really does need your love and care.
Reply:before you take her to the vet i would try a dog food called wolf king. its a little pricey but worth it in the long run. the dog food help their coat and everything it has salmon in it. i had a dog that had allergies to something and she got red bumps all over her body and i bought that dog food and shes all better. her coat is really beautiful.
Reply:maybe tell a vet about it they might give u a special shmpoo for him or somthing
Reply:MAYBE SHE HAS ALLERGIES OR DRY SKIN OR A COMBO OF BOTH. WHAT TYPE OF FOOD ARE YOU FEEDING HER. WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS IN HER FOOD?? IT COULD BE HER FOOD TO TO AS WELL. COULD SHE BE ALLERGIC TO FLEA BITES OR TO GRASS OR TO THE FLEA SHAMPOO YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO YOUR VET AND ASK QUESTIONS AND DON'T LEAVE TILL YOU GET WHAT YOU WANT.
Reply:Does she feel oily or waxy where she is losing her hair? Could by hypothyriodism too. Only a vet will be able to tell you. The good news, the meds for this cost less than $20 per month.
Reply:But that's why you go to a vet - so you can find out what the problem is! How do you expect to be able to treat something if you don't know what the cause is?
Don't know why you had to spend $500. Depending on what flea treatment you used, your dog may well have fleas. Do you know what flea dirt looks like and how to search for it? If not, you can't be sure there are no fleas there! Also since you bathed the dog, this would have inactivated whatever spot-on you used. Also, if it was flea treatment from a pet store it won't have worked!
Sorry, but we're not going to be able to tell you what's going on here. Did the vet say she was clear for fleas? What else was suggested?
